Who is SoCalPaintballing.com?

On the internet many paintball communities target national audiences, but what about the local community? In a state of millions, we want the focus to be on us – and not just the whole group of Californians, the SOUTHERN Californians.

The History

This whole community started back in the fall of 1996. Back when the internet was new and very few people were online. Back then we where just an off shoot of another website. As the years past, the first incarnation of the community was born. PaintballXtreme.net Now this site had much of the features we have today, the only problem stemmed from the name. This was far too hard to remember, let alone spell it. So in 2000 the site was rebranded PaintballinCalifornia.com.

PaintballinCalifornia.com saw record growth in the community, with membership swelling to over 500 members. The task of managing everyone overwhelmed me as the admin, and with limited resources I was finally force to close the site in April of 2005 to focus on my job.

So that brings us to now. Why restart the site? Well I have put tons of time into the site to make it what it is. It seemed like a real shame to have such a large and popular website just close. So with a more focused web model – and without as much of the clutter I relaunched the new site.

The Purpose

The real purpose of the web site is to focus on the local paintball scene here in SoCal. Many owners ask me, “How do you make money?” My reply is that I don’t. I love to paintball, and want to really give a little back to the group that I’ve played hours of paintball with. You want to help me or make things better? Then use the site! Post links back to the site! Talk us up on other forums – anything to help collect the community here – and to make the local paintball community better.
